teenager
krich613 asked:

I am looking for my first car (I’m 15) and I’m not sure on what to get. I need something that is relatively low in price because I have to pay for my own car. Also, I know that I am going to be driving alot because of my sports and social life. Of course, every teenager wants something cute and I prefer a smaller car. Most of all, one that is reliable…Any suggestions at all? Please I need alot of help!

you’ll hate me, but a taurus because they are so safe but they hold 6 people, and thats good if you’re going someplace with friends. they’re not that expensive either and the new ones are nice looking.

something small that isnt to expencive to insure (so not a saab or a sports car) someting that doesnt go to fast. youve seen these kids who have fast cars they end up as pancakes ont he road.
something like a ford ka. would be perfect.

I would look on criags list around your location.Toyota corrollas get very good gas millage and are very good cars. They are also cheap to repair if ness.If not your style then just look around on there on you should be able to find a good cheap car to your liking.

I would recommend a car two to four years old and I would go with the Taurus or Impala. Hope this helps. Try carmax or similiar.

I got my son a Focus ZX-3. They are a “World Car,” sold all over the world, and marketed as sporty in Europe. In the US they are sold as a sensibe car, but if you, like my son did, research how they get tuned in England, you can have a sporty car, And what will make your parents happy is that the car is economical and not over-powered, meaning it’s safe. There is an outrageously high rate of car accident deaths for young men driving high performance cars.

You should be able to find a used one at a reasonable price.

Whatever you do, don’t get a vintage car from before 1990. Those cars were not crash-worthy. Technology vastly improved by 1990 to make accidents survivable without permanent disabilities.

Also, any car more than 10 years old may need its airbag replaced. Factor that into the price

1997 mercury grand marquis….$2000. you said something reliable right? well here ya go, theee MOST reliable car ever, it was my grandpas car, he took EXCELLENT care of it, it runs strong. he kept it well-maintained. And i just put a brand new pioneer detachable face in it. ALL accessories work, (heat, a/c, power windows, power locks, etc.) let me know what you think, 904-4992, steven

If you want a new car I’d recommend the Scion TC, it comes pretty loaded for about $16,000 and is quality built by Toyota. (It’s the old Celica in new drag) If you want a used car I’d say a Honda Accord. Just keep the oil changed and that thing will run forever!

Look for airbags and anti-lock brakes. For most cars the biggest cost is depreciation. If you look for a car that has depreciated already, then the previous owner has paid that cost. The price of a Lincoln drops like a rock, but you don’t want one of them. The price of a Honda stays too high too long. If you are not paying cash, then finance charges are the greatest cost. So pay cash. Think about family member and others who might want to borrow your car or get rides and hauling done. You don’t want to have something too appealing.
