I’m going to be a sophmore in high school, and even so I’ve received countless applications for financial aid, registrations, and other college-bound papers in the mail. Not I nor my mother knows what to do, and being the first child into college, I’ve been seeking advice from counselors, teachers, and other relatives whom have had children go to college, and they all say different things. However, they do have a few things in common, but i would just like to know from more perspectives how old a child/teenager should prepare for college and in what ways can they themselves help their college career early (not to mention ways their parent/guardian can help).

STUDY, discipline n get focused… stay away from drugs….. u will get hooked, take this from sum1 who is drunk right now…
i am 27 years old and i havent ever attended a university. if i was to attend now i would do so at my own expense, you know as a hobby, to further my education. i believe that if i could go back in time and i had made up my mind to attend a university, i would spend as much time as possible on one. i think this is important because you will have less fear. we all fear the “unknown” and you need to know what to expect. dont waste time around all the bars, shops, and convenience stores. walk all over campus. walk around all the buildings, wall in the buildings, wallk in the classrooms. sit outside watch people. skateboard. ride your bike. go when there is nobody. go where there is somebody. go in the morning. go late at night. look at the pictures on the walls. look at the book covers. think and reflect. what do you want to be doing for the rest of your life? what is the best way to start? what do you want to learn NOW???? who knows, maybe after all this time you spend, you’ll make a friend who will help guide your path. stay away from drugs and cigarettes and bad people. i say its better to not have a friend then to have a bad one.
