My wife Janet was a freind of Joyce Baker`s, one of the Vernons Girls, who married Marty Wilde. Joyce`s mother [who was a good freind of my mother-in-law`s] was still living on the same estate in Huyton, Merseyside right up to the `90`s till she eventually decided to move down south to be near her daughter. only a few of us knew who this little old lady was related to. Very independent, going about her business, shopping at the co-op etc.

You might like to know that Marty started out in a band formed with his friends called Reg Smith (his real name !) And The Hound Dogs. I think Marty Wilde And The Wildcats sounds a whole lot better, thank you Larry Parnes !.
