I’m doing a project on this topic and i need a little more information about what people did for fun, what music you listened to, what you wore etc for those who were teens in the Seventies. Also if you’re a teenager today i’d like to know the same sort of thing with this generation.

Well in the 1970′s family values were still strong, you did as you were told, teenage crime rates, underage drinking and teenage pregnancy were very rare, schools still used corporal punishment.
Teens had respect for parents, teachers, police officers etc.
Kids could play out all day with no worries, kids played games like football, hopscotch, marbles, jacks and tree climbing.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t a teenager in the seventies.
But I am a teenager now.
And I can tell you…in today’s society, teenagers grow up way too fast, and they’re seemingly much more out spoken and they can get away with more than what they could back then. For example…if you were a gay teen in the seventies, you just didn’t come out because people were much harsher about it back then than they are now. At least, that’s the effect I get.
Back then, I believe teens were more innocent and those “goody-two shoes” were referred to as “squares,” which probably started fading out sometime in the 80s. These days, you often hear of teens losing their virginity at ages as young as 14, sometimes even younger! Teenage pregnancy rates seem higher than ever, and I also believe religion was more prominent back then. Many teens don’t believe in God anymore, or hardly keep up with their religious commitments including myself. As I do believe in God, I’m not very serious and I certainly don’t go to church or read the Bible daily.
Bell bottom jeans, long hair, and rock and roll. Drive-in movies(partyin’ in the back row.), rock concerts, fast cars, and faster women. Wonderin’ when you were goin’ to Vietnam.
